Through its subsidiaries and affiliated companies in the United States, Brazil, Mexico and other countries in Latin America, DIRECTV provides digital television service to 20.11 million customers in the United States and 16.32 million customers in Latin America.
DIRECTV reported revenues of $7.58 billion in the first quarter of 2013. DIRECTV is composed of two main operating units - DIRECTV U.S., and Latin America, as well as DIRECTV Regional Sports Networks.
DIRECTV U.S, DIRECTV Holdings LLC and its subsidiaries, which we refer to as DIRECTV U.S., is the largest provider of DTH digital television services and the second largest provider in the multi-channel video programming distribution, or MVPD, industry in the United States. As of March 31, 2013, DIRECTV U.S. had 20.11 million subscribers with average monthly revenue per subscriber, or ARPU, of $96.05. We believe we have the most comprehensive HD programming in the country with over 185 national channels.
DIRECTV Latin America, DIRECTV Latin America is a leading provider of DTH digital television services throughout Latin America. DTVLA is comprised of: PanAmericana, which provides services in Venezuela, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Puerto Rico and certain other countries in the region through our wholly-owned subsidiary, DIRECTV Latin America, LLC, or DLA LLC; our 93% owned subsidiary Sky Brasil Servicos Ltda., which we refer to as Sky Brazil; and our 41% equity method investment in Innova, S. de R.L. de C.V., or Sky Mexico. As of March 31, 2013, PanAmericana and Sky Brazil had approximately 10.91 million subscribers and Sky Mexico had about 5.41 million subscribers.
